Chief Executive Officer
Matt Ostrander is co-founder, majority owner, Chairman and CEO of Parkside Lending, LLC. Matt oversees day-to-day operations, drives Parkside’s business vision and develops subsidiary projects. Since founding the company in 2004, he has grown Parkside to a national Wholesale and Correspondent Platform, emphasizing a highly automated business model and creating a company culture that fosters creativity, trust and enthusiasm for the work and the industry.
Parkside is a Third Party Originator that has produced strong returns through up and down cycles in Mortgage Lending. He and his veteran management team navigated the company through the mortgage deterioration of 2007 and 2008 that consumed many mortgage banks, commercial banks and other financial services companies in the United States.
Matt has a history of building companies from start-up to success by breaking down complex processes and working collaboratively with others to create simple systems that yield proven results. His experience spans an array of industries, including music, interactive media, medical software and entertainment production.
He is a Director for the California Mortgage Bankers Association Board, where he serves as the President of Residential Real Estate, and a Board member of the Freddie Mac Advisory Board. Matt also serves as President of the Mill Valley Soccer Club, a nonprofit youth sports organization serving 2,500 families in Marin County; serves as President and Chairman of the Board for Parkside Mortgage Trust REIT; and is a co-founder and major shareholder of @Home Financial Services Company, Van Ness Insurance Services, LLC, and ParkSoft, LLC, a mortgage software company. He has formerly served as a Director on the board of TeraRecon, a medical software company.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Matt graduated from Cornell University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. He lives in Marin County with his wife and three children. He coaches children’s soccer and enjoys traveling, photography, drawing, surfing, skiing and music.
Chief Financial Officer
Hanford has more than 20 years of senior executive level financial management experience in both private and public companies within the mortgage, financial services, and software technology industries. Prior to joining Parkside Lending in 2010, he was the VP of Finance for the largest online provider of residential mortgage lending in the United States, where he managed the departments of the controller, treasury, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
Hanford also spent a number of years in the high tech industry, most recently as the Corporate Controller at a software company that led the industry in the development of cloud-connected online consumer storage space. While the VP of Finance at another company, he was a member of the IPO team, led two successful acquisitions, and managed the implementation of an enterprise system.
Chief Credit Officer
Linda brings 45 years of leadership experience to Parkside. She recently managed credit for a large, national, lender, creating the oversight and administration of the firm’s lending policies. Linda has been an executive in diverse disciplines within mortgage banking including operations, credit, and sales. Specializing in the government business The depth of her career includes 22 years in a senior executive role with one of the most successful firms in the industry.
Chief Compliance Officer
Laurie joined Parkside Lending, LLC as Chief Compliance Officer in 2014. She brings 20 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry to the role.
Prior to joining Parkside Lending, Laurie was Chief Compliance Officer at DocMagic, Inc., the leading provider of loan documents and compliance services in the mortgage industry. Prior to joining DocMagic, she worked in policies and procedures, project management, risk management, and compliance for a variety of lenders, including Washington Mutual, ResMAE Mortgage Corporation, and Kinecta Federal Credit Union.
Mortgage banking is Laurie's second career. Previously, she worked at the Disneyland Resort for 18 years, where she held a variety of roles in operations, training, and organizational development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University, Long Beach. A lifelong resident of California, Laurie lives with her family in Orange County.
Executive Vice President, Mortgage Portfolio, Pricing, and Products
Sean oversees Product, Pricing and Portfolio at Parkside Lending. His responsibilities include setting pricing strategy for the company, obtaining investor relationships to expand Parkside’s product offerings, and managing the profitability of retail branches. Sean previously worked for Peoples Home Equity (PHE), where he served as EVP of Capital Markets, and was instrumental in helping grow the company’s volume from less than $1 billion in originations in 2014 to nearly $4 billion by the end of 2017. Before PHE, Sean directed the Capital Markets team at First California Mortgage Company. During his 2 years of tenure there as an executive, the company went from a revenue deficit to recording 18 months of consecutive and growing profitability. Sean became a CFA charter holder in 2006 and holds a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis.
Executive Vice President, Secondary Marketing
Patty Gong joined Parkside Lending in 2007. Since that time, her notable accomplishments include building the company's first pricing engine, rolling out its hedging protocol, adding the first loans to its servicing portfolio, and issuing Parkside Lending's first GSE and first GNMA securities. Patty continues to manage interest rate risk, trading, and investor relationships; the Lock Desk, Shipping and Investor Relations teams fall under Patty's purview. As a member of the Credit Committee, the Interest Rate Risk Committee and the Executive Committee, she is a key voice for corporate strategy.
Patty has more than two decades of mortgage banking experience, including managing mortgage pricing, interest rate risk, capital markets, operations, and product development. Before joining Parkside Lending, Patty worked at Alliance Bancorp and Integrated Capital Group. Patty was recently named as one of the MPA's Elite Women in 2016.
Executive Vice President, Sales
More than 20 years of sales and 16 years of sales management experience in the mortgage business serve James well at Parkside Lending. He guides the National Sales Team to consistently higher production levels, and is a member of the Executive Committee which sets direction for the company.
James joined Parkside Lending in 2008 after more than 14 years with the mortgage group of a large, international bank, where he held several positions of increasing responsibility, from Wholesale Account Executive to SVP and Southwest Group Manager. After the sale of that lender to another large mortgage entity, James was named VP, Divisional Sales Manager for the Southwest, where he oversaw a team of 65 account executives and four regional managers covering five states.
Executive Vice President, Sales
Clint oversees the National Sales Team, guiding it to consistently higher production levels, and originally joined Parkside Lending in 2008 as an Account Executive. He is a member of the Executive Committee which sets direction for the company, and has been instrumental in helping the CEO grow the company by more than eight times its initial size.
Since entering the wholesale lending industry over a decade ago, Clint quickly became a top producing Account Executive and then progressed into Sales Management. As a manager he leveraged his sales and management expertise to build top producing regions. Clint is a founding board member of the Marilyn Rosenthal foundation, dedicated to empowering our youth through education and activity. Previously, Clint had a successful career in the field of High Tech spanning two decades, where he held senior and executive management positions at well-known international tech companies.
Philip A. Lekousis
Executive Vice President, Retail
Phil joined Parkside in 2018 and launched the Retail platform. As Architect of Retail at Parkside, Phil accelerated the growth of the new segment exceeding all projections. The geographic footprint of Retail began in the Central U. S. and now extends from coast to coast. Under Phil’s leadership, Retail is growing daily, attracting and hiring the most successful Mortgage Advisors and Branch Managers.
Prior to joining Parkside, Phil was an Executive with a national lender, where he built and managed a division in the Central U. S. Phil entered the mortgage industry in 2006, where he quickly became a top producer. That success led him to opportunities of senior leadership and eventually President of a residential mortgage lender.
Phil has owned and operated several businesses over the last 15 years and brings an expertise in scaling and servicing organizations. Phil’s previous experience, both within the mortgage industry and outside, as an entrepreneur, has prepared him for his role today as EVP of Retail Production. His plan and vision are guiding Parkside to heights of record-breaking volume and profits in the coming years.
Executive Vice President, Operations
Chris joined Parkside Lending, LLC as Vice President of Retail Operations in 2018. He has since become the EVP of Operations expanding his purview to encumber National Operations for Parkside. Chris brings over 15 years of mortgage lending experience to Parkside, many of which have included roles in senior leadership.
Chris began his career in the mortgage industry as a Loan Originator. As a top producer, he was quickly promoted into Sales Management. Not long after his promotion, Chris took the entrepreneurial route & opened up his own brokerage with his brother, Phil. After many successful years in Sales, Chris found his calling as an Operations Leader when he was thrust into the role of Operations Manager in his new venture. Since then, Chris has gone on to lead multiple successful Operations across the country. He has presided over Retail & Wholesale channels during his career. He is an expert in building operations platforms, and is an innovator when it comes to the loan process. In addition, Chris is a certified FHA DE Underwriter, and also has a VA LAPP/SAR certification. He is also a member of the Forbes Real Estate Council.
In his current role, Chris oversees all facets of the operations staff nationally along with post-closing activities. As a member of the Management Team, Chris also participates in the Credit Committee, Counterparty Risk Committee, Cyber Risk Committee, and the Product Development team.
Vice President, Performance Management Metrics and Reporting
Robin Patzert just celebrated her 20th year in mortgage banking, returning to her Wholesale Lending roots when joining Parkside Lending in September 2015.
Robin grew up in the business, starting as a Wholesale Coordinator, ultimately taking on senior leadership roles in Retail and Direct Lending Channels at CitiMortgage, JPMChase, and LoanDepot. She transitioned her operations expertise into successful roles overseeing strategic initiatives in support of executive leaders. Some highlights of her career include: winning a Presidential award for her leadership of a new business unit, leading an operations integration for a major Retail merger, and created key leadership training modules.
In her current role, Robin drives initiatives as an informed ambassador of the business and executes the vision of those she supports. Her accomplishments include building key production monitoring reports to drive business, comparative trending data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and maximizing momentum. She is working to build a data and intelligence infrastructure that will include a full suite of scorecards and KPI's for the company as a whole and all supporting departments.
Vice President, Product and Investor Development
Elaina joined Parkside in 2018 as the Product Software Manager, overseeing automation projects and the wholesale portal, ePark2.0 and is now the Vice President of Product and Investor Development. Elaina brings 25 years of Product Development and Investor Relations experience.
She has held several positions within product and strategy of increasing responsibility within the Financial Services industry, including Peoples Home Equity, First California Mortgage, Global Logic, First Franklin Financial/Merrill Lynch, Visa, American River HealthPro CU, and Schools CU.
She holds a B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Vice President, Servicing
Teresa oversees the Shipping and Servicing departments. She has 14+ years of industry experience in Post-Closing which includes 3+ years of Servicing Management experience and investor relations with agencies and numerous investors.
Vice President, Software Optimization and Support
Kyeleen joined Parkside Lending in 2015. In that time, she has worked to help implement and configure several software solutions to optimize Parkside’s technology platform. In addition to leading our Software Optimization Team, she manages our Software Support Team who provides systems support to both our internal users and TPO Clients.
Kyeleen began her career in the Mortgage Industry over 20 years ago. She has worked in a variety of roles in both wholesale and retail lending, including underwriting, managing credit exception policy and pricing. Leveraging her diverse background, she has also worked with various lenders, leading projects seeking to increase efficiencies in business and operational practices.
